Have you seen the future of the Internet lately? Parliament members are now making an attempt by building a commission. German Bundestag's Enquête Commission on "Internet and digital Society" will have 17 parliament members and 17 external experts. Most parties have yet to select their members but some already did, and I will be one of the 17 experts. The Enquête Commission will be established for a purpose, that of protecting the quality and character of the Internet, finding solutions to the problems of intellectual property, defining privacy rights for the future, and analyzing and cultivating new ideas on many topics regarding the net. Of course, we can only guess about what will be in the final document of the commission in two years. There are just a few articles in English about the political situation that resulted in the idea to create that commission, like this one from Richard Poynder. Although I don't agree in all aspects, it is worth reading.
